Have you wanted to learn how to use a sewing machine and are unsure where to start? Have you tried sewing but have forgotten some of the basics? Do you enjoy making beautiful things? Then, this introductory course is for you! After we go over the basics of operating a sewing machine and create a small pincushion, we will make a beautiful pillowcase that will be uniquely yours. You will learn how to read a pattern, measure and cut fabric, stitch simple straight seams and French seams. Sewing machines will be provided, but feel free to contact the teacher if you have a working sewing machine that you would like to learn how to use. This could be a great opportunity to set yourself up for sewing at home. This class is geared for students grades 6-12, but adults are welcome, too! If you want to come as a helper for your child, there is no extra charge unless you want to sew your own!
All supplies are provided, HOWEVER, if you would like to choose and purchase your own fabric you will need:
Cost: $30 if you have your own fabric.
$40 if you would like to choose from a selection of fabric provided by the instructor. A variety of color and style choices will be offered.
