2026 Youth Fastpitch Summer Softball
Youth Summer Rec.
Popular
Welcome to the 2026 Fastpitch Softball Season! Youth softball players and parents, East Central Youth Softball will continue to participate in the East Central Rivers Youth Summer Softball program. This is a traveling softball program and a great opportunity for our area youth. There is no school-provided transportation, and games are played in towns such as Milaca, Hinckley, Pine City, Isle, Ogilvie, Braham, Rush City, and Mora. Carpooling to games is common, so please reach out to the coaches or other parents if transportation is an issue. Typically, we play each school twice, so half of our games should be at our home fields. Games will typically start at 6 pm. This year, we plan to have three teams. 10U is for players who are in 3rd & 4th Grade (25/26 school year). 12U is for players who are in 5th & 6th Grade (26/26 school year). 14U is for players who are in 7th & 8th Grade (26/26 school year). Players must play in their age band, this is to help build skills across the entire age group. Mandatory Family/Team Meeting: Coaches invite parents and players to a team meeting in mid-March (date TBD) Team expectations, fundraising information, and more information about what to expect in the upcoming season will be discussed. It is recommended that all players and at least one parent attend. Practices: We hope to begin practice in late April (weather permitting), and we will communicate directly with parents about how that will look as the time gets closer. Spring schedules are very tight with limited fields and possible weather. We would intend to have two practices per week, beginning at 5:30 pm. Those in Junior High Softball will begin practice after the school season is over. A Heja link will be sent to registered parents for notification information. Games: Games will start at the beginning of June and wrap up with an end-of-season tournament over the July 11th /12th weekend. In the past, all games have been on Tuesday or Thursday evenings, although that is subject to change after the league meeting in late spring. Fees: We will be ordering the same jersey as last year, with a change in material. Fees are $100 per player if a jersey is needed. If you will be re-using your jersey from last year, the registration fee will be $75. If fees are a concern for your family, please contact Community Ed. Players will be expected to provide their own cleats, black pants, and a glove. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Please register by 3:00 pm on March 31. Please register and pay online at: https://eastcentral.ce.eleyo.com/ Thank you, and we look forward to a season of fun, learning, and teamwork! Coaches are TBD. Please let us know if you are interested in being a coach. If you have any questions, please send all communications to Community Education at ce@eastcentral.k12.mn.us When you have them register, please have them make a selection of jersey, yes or no (note the pricing change for both options), then if they need a jersey, we need to know size (in adult or youth) and the top 3 number choices.

In this 1.5-hour beginner class, we'll cover the basics to sugar cookies, do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you'll need is provided in class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile). You'll leave class with a great understanding of the basics of sugar cookies plus a few cool techniques we'll cover in class! More details on refunds, things to bring, cancelations, and FAQs are below - looking forward to having you with us. We provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU! Each to-be-baker gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, transfers, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate! Please be on time so we can have enough time to decorate and answer along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend either way it's a blast! FAQ What will I be doing in the class? Besides having the most fun ever? We will be going over some cookie facts, decorating techniques and you will be decorating your very own set of cookies that you will take home with you that day. Do I need to know how to bake? Nope! No baking experience required. We will have the cookies pre-made for you along with the icing already mixed and colored. Have a little decorating experience under your belt… er… apron? Come on too! I can help with questions on icing mixing and dough spread! What will we learn in class? You’ll learn what goes into preparing royal icing, the value of different icing consistencies – we’ll touch on tips and tricks to make your cookies look even better than they taste (and they taste good)! You’ll also learn different decorating techniques depending on the class theme such as marbling, outlining, wet-on-wet, brush embroidery, and painting. Or hey – go off script and make your own designs – it’s your class! What do I need to bring? Nothing but a smile! Everything will be provided for you including my (rather tasty) sugar cookies. All you need to do is join us and have fun! Messy decorator? You can bring your own apron or just wear easy-to-wash clothing. There is a PowerPoint for reference, so if you wear glasses, we'd encourage you to bring them as well. Oh – and bring your phone – I love photos! What age is best for cookie classes? Our in-person classes are great for almost any age; however, we suggest kids 8 and older for our classes. What will I bring home? By the end of the class, you will have created a set of gorgeous cookies ready to dry for 24 - 48 hours in their own box. You'll also leave with a sugar cookie recipe card and a little gift from me. And of course, you’ll have new skills, memories, and fun! I signed up for a class but can't make it? :( We understand that life happens so that’s why we allow you to cancel up to 14 days before the class. You can always transfer your spot to a friend though (and what a nice friend you are). Any cancelation after the 14 days can be rolled over to another class within 3 months. We must be notified before the start of the class in order to honor 3 month class credit. Allergen Disclaimer / Class Cancelation Policy / Weather Policy / Fees Disclaimer Allergens: Heads up – these cookies include the following ingredients: Wheat, Dairy, Egg Please note – these cookies are prepared in a kitchen that also bakes with common, known allergens: Tree Nut, Soy Please consider your allergies before registering. WE ARE PEANUT FREE! If you need a set of gluten friendly cookies please send us an email with your confirmation number and how many sets you need gluten friendly. Class Cancelation Policy: Classes may be canceled at the discretion of me, the event host. This rarely happens – but in that extremely rare event that it does, you’ll receive a 100% refund including your processing fees. Classes with attendance below 5 will be canceled. Don’t be sad! You can either have your ticket moved to a future class (along with my apologies), or a full refund! I’ll let you know if your class has low attendance 7 days before the event is canceled so that you can bring a friend (hint hint) or find other plans for that day. Weather Policy: Sometimes Jack Frost doesn’t play well with cookie class schedules, and Mother Nature seems to be takin’ notes. In the event of inclement weather, I’ll contact you with options – these may differ depending on the weather event but rest assured – we’ll figure something out!
